Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the nation's success is rooted in unity and the active participation of its people in national affairs.
Speaking at Tehran’s Azadi Square on Monday to mark the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Pezeshkian highlighted the historic moment when Iranians "expelled tyrants and oppressors" from the country.
"The philosophy and secret of our victory and success is unity, cohesion, and the presence of the people on the stage," he stated, underscoring the role of national solidarity in Iran’s resilience.
He noted that Iranians acted with strength and determination, successfully eliminating foreign interference.
"The enemies seek to create division and discord to instill the perception that Iran has been weakened, but with the prudence and wisdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the presence of the people on the scene, their dream will not come true," he affirmed.
The President also stressed Iran’s steadfastness against external pressures, stating, "The Iranian people have stood firm against bullying, and the enemies’ conspiracies will not succeed." He reiterated that under the leadership of Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Iran would resist all hostile plots. "They will take all of these dreams and aspirations to the grave."
Pezeshkian further rejected allegations against Iran, declaring, "They call us terrorists yet they themselves are the terrorists," while asserting that Iran has been a victim of terrorism.
Pezeshkian to Trump: ‘Why these follies if you wanted talks?’
Turning his attention to US foreign policy, Pezeshkian dismissed President Donald Trump’s claims of seeking negotiations with Iran, pointing to Washington’s continued pressure on the Islamic Republic.
"Trump says he wants to negotiate, yet at the same time, he signs and announces every possible plot to bring the Islamic Revolution to its knees," he remarked, referring to the revival of the US "maximum pressure" campaign.
He further criticized Washington’s tactics, stating, "They say they want to negotiate, but if you truly intended to negotiate, why did you commit these follies?"
Accusing the US of double standards, Pezeshkian argued that "Israel, with American backing, is the real source of insecurity, bombing innocent people in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and wherever it wants."
He also condemned Washington’s response to the International Criminal Court's (ICC) case against Israeli leaders over war crimes. "The U.S. claims to seek peace, but who has truly disrupted the region? Who is responsible for massacre and destruction in the region? What free-minded person in the world accepts the bombing of women, children, and the sick?" he asked.
Reaffirming the need for national unity, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran’s strength lies in solidarity, echoing the words of Imam Khomeini and Sayyed Khamenei. "If we stand together, we can overcome all challenges, and the U.S. will only dream of bringing us down," he declared.
Addressing the Iranian people, the president vowed to fight injustice, poverty, and economic hardship under the guidance of the country's Leader.
