Pezeshkian's swearing-in ceremony set for July 30
The event will be attended by the head of Iran’s Supreme Court, members of the Guardian Council, the judiciary chief, and various other high-ranking state and military officials.
Masoud Pezeshkian is set to officially become the 9th president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with his swearing-in ceremony scheduled to take place in the parliament, also known as Majlis, on July 30, 2024.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s Presiding Board Hojjatoleslam Alireza Salimi detailed that the ceremony will mark Pezeshkian's official assumption of office.
As per Iranian law, the swearing-in ceremony will occur following the endorsement of the president-elect's mandate by the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

According to Article 121 of the Constitution, the president-elect will swear an oath to utilize all his abilities and competencies in fulfilling the responsibilities he has committed to, concluding with the signing of the affidavit.
It is worth noting that the runoff election, held last Friday, saw Pezeshkian secure 16,384,403 votes following an inconclusive first round on June 28. This election was held to elect a successor for late president Ebrahim Raisi, who tragically died in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran on May 19, along with his Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and several others.
