Following the detention of activist Abla Saadat, wife of the General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ahmad Saadat, the PFLP released a statement calling her detention a new crime by the Israeli occupation.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine stressed that "the detention of comrade Abla Saadat, the wife of the imprisoned Secretary-General, Comrade Ahmed Saadat, is a new Zionist crime added to the occupation's record of crimes against our people."

The PFLP explained that Saadat's detention "comes within the framework of a systematic policy targeting the leaders of the national and feminist movement and their families, in a desperate attempt to discourage them from continuing their struggle against the occupation."

In their statement, the PFLP pointed out that "targeting Saadat, who has always suffered from the bitterness of detention and who represents a symbol of steadfastness and struggle, along with her comrade, Comrade Abu Ghassan [her husband] and a group of male and female fighters, falls within a plan that targets the leaders of the Palestinian people, especially Palestinian women, who have always been at the forefront of the national movement."

The Front emphasized the inability of these crimes to undermine the determination of the Palestinian people, and their lack of impact "on the will of the militants who continue their resistance despite all the occupation's failed attempts to break them, nor will they undermine the determination of the national activist Abla Saadat or break the advanced revolutionary model represented by Commander Ahmed Saadat."

The PFLP added in their statement that this detention highlights the Israeli occupation’s criminal policies toward Palestinian women, who are continuously subjected to abuse and detention, as seen with Khalida Jarrar, who remains in solitary confinement and faces further abuse and oppression. These crimes aim to undermine the role of women in the national movement.

The PFLP urged for "intensifying all forms of support and solidarity with detainees" to maintain pressure on the occupation, demanding an end to its oppressive policies and crimes. They emphasized the need for expanded international efforts to end detainees' suffering and "hold the Zionist jailers accountable" for their crimes.

IOF detain wife of PFLP secretary-general

At dawn Tuesday, Israeli occupation forces detained Abla Saadat after raiding their home in al-Bireh, West Bank.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the West Bank confirmed that Abla Saadat was detained amid a large-scale raid by Israeli occupation forces. Additionally, another young woman from the al-Qadi family was detained during the operation. The reasons behind their detentions remain unknown at this time.

Palestinian media also reported that Israeli occupation forces stormed the Balata Camp and its surrounding areas in eastern Nablus, arresting multiple youths. In response, the "Youth of Revenge and Liberation - Balata Camp," affiliated with the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Fatah movement, announced that their fighters engaged in confrontations with the Israeli forces, also targeting the advancing occupation troops with gunfire.

According to WAFA, Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Silwad, located northeast of Ramallah. The agency reported that multiple military vehicles entered several neighborhoods within the town, resulting in the arrest of three young men and the confiscation of their vehicle.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club confirmed on Saturday that since the beginning of the war against the Palestinians on October 7, the Israeli occupation forces have detained over 10,700 Palestinians from the West Bank and occupied al-Quds.
