The representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement (PIJ) in Lebanon, Ihsan Ataya, says that "the occupation is trying to introduce international mediation to stop the resistance's response."

The representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Lebanon, Ihsan Ataya, revealed that "Israel" demanded, through mediators, to halt the escalation, which the PIJ refused.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Ataya pointed out that "the Israeli occupation has crossed the red lines, and we are at the start of the confrontation, and there is no place to talk about mediation."

The PIJ representative in Lebanon added that "the occupation is trying to introduce international mediation to stop the resistance's response."

The head of the PIJ media office in Palestine, Daoud Shehab, told Al Mayadeen that "the Israeli enemy had wanted to thwart all mediations since the Islamic Jihad declared the alert following the arrest of the [PIJ leader Bassam] Al-Saadi leader."

He also confirmed that "just an hour before the aggression, we were in contact with the Egyptian brothers, who offered us proposals, and we dealt with them positively."

On Friday, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, began responding to the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip, with the launching of salvoes of rockets toward the occupied Palestinian territories.

Earlier on that day, the Israeli occupation announced the start of a military operation against Islamic Jihad targets in the Strip. The Ministry of Health in Gaza spoke of "10 martyrs, including a 5-year-old girl", in addition to dozens of wounded.

Al-Quds Brigades, PIJ's military wing, announced the martyrdom of Taiseer Al-Jaabari, a military commander in the northern Gaza Strip.

Shortly thereafter, all of the Palestinian resistance factions issued statements condemning the Israeli occupation's aggression and its assassination of resistance figures and leaders, as well as solidifying the resistance's unity against the Israeli aggressors.
