Police attack Spanish university students for protesting Israeli ties
Spanish police viciously crack down on students who took over a part of the philosophy department.
Protesters at the University of Seville in Spain have planned a rally at 6 pm on Tuesday after police officers violently expelled students who were occupying part of the philology department overnight in demand that the school cut connections with "Israel".
The number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7 has risen to 37,164 and those injured to 84,832, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Tuesday.
In its daily report, the Health Ministry mentioned that the Israeli occupation forces committed three massacres within 24 hours only, killing 40 Palestinians and injuring 120 others.
The demonstrators' videos reveal police from the National Police's Intervention Unit storming the room, beating protesters with batons, and detaining them on the floor.
The local emergency services informed the Spanish news agency Efe that they had received reports of many individuals being hurt, with at least one being transported to the hospital.
The university's rector divulged in a statement that he had urged police to remove the demonstrators following a "worrying rise in hostilities" he claims hampered the school's academia.

Social media footage showed police behavior and cited that "this is how the police treat a nonviolent student protest."
"Shame on the forces of 'security' and the University of Seville."
They also disputed the rector's claim that they had not attempted to connect with university authorities, noting that they had requested a meeting on June 4.

These developments come despite the recognition of a Palestinian state by the Spanish government.
In Helsingborg, Sweden over the weekend, pro-Palestine activists took a bold stance by dyeing a public fountain crimson red as a striking visual protest against the ongoing Israeli genocide targeting the people of Gaza.
Protests also swept Vienna, demanding an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and condemning the Austrian government's support for "Israel" and its genocide in the Gaza Strip.
