PPS: IOF detains 30 Palestinians in West Bank
Israeli occupation forces continue their incursions on the West Bank, leading to a constant rise in the number of Palestinians detained and taken as hostages.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society announced today that Israeli occupation forces detained 30 Palestinians in the West Bank and several others from Gaza working in Nablus.
This comes amid the Israeli occupation forces' continuous incursions on the West Bank, leading to a constant rise in the number of Palestinians detained and taken as hostages. This is all accompanied by constant violent attacks from Israeli settlers.
In 141 days, 'Israel' detains 7,210 Palestinians in West Bank, al-Quds
Earlier last week, the Palestinian Detainees Commission and the PPS announced that the total number of Israeli arrests against Palestinians in various areas of the West Bank and occupied al-Quds has reached approximately 7,210 detainees since October 7.
They also revealed that the Israeli arrest campaigns were accompanied by widespread acts of harassment, brutal beatings, and threats against the detainees and their families. Furthermore, there were extensive incidents of destruction and sabotage in the homes of Palestinian citizens.
Earlier last week, both organizations also stated that the total number of Palestinian women detained by the IOF has risen to 227, that of children to 460, and that of journalists to 56, 37 out of whom are still detained while 21 others have been transferred to administrative detention. This leaves the number of administratively detained Palestinians at 3,484 as of the end of January.
All of the Palestinian detainees continue to suffer from horrible conditions as temperatures are freezing low, all electrical tools and hearts have been confiscated, and clothes, as well as blankets, have also been taken by the IOF.
It is noteworthy that all of these numbers do not include any from Gaza, as the Israeli occupation is refusing to share this information and is carrying the crime of enforced disappearance against them.
Israeli forces rape women in Gaza, execute others, UN 'appalled'
Last Monday, UN experts raised concern over "credible allegations" of grave human rights violations against Palestinian women and girls in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
According to the information, Palestinian women and girls were arbitrarily executed in Gaza along with their family members, even while fleeing, and, on at least one occasion, women detained were allegedly kept in a cage in the rain and cold, without food.
The experts expressed they were "particularly distressed" about reports of detained women and girls being subjected to numerous forms of sexual assault, like being stripped naked and searched by male Israeli army officers.
At least two female Palestinian detainees were raped, while others were reportedly threatened with rape and sexual abuse.
The experts expressed concern that an unknown number of Palestinian women and children, including girls, have reportedly gone missing after contact with the Israeli occupation in Gaza. “There are disturbing reports of at least one female infant forcibly transferred by the Israeli army into 'Israel,' and of children being separated from their parents, whose whereabouts remain unknown,” the experts said.
