Mass rallies in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Friday reaffirmed an unwavering stance of solidarity “with our brothers in Gaza,” as tens of thousands filled al-Sabeen Square in the “Steadfast with Gaza… our readiness is high to confront all enemy conspiracies” demonstration.
Call to support Gaza’s resistance
In a statement from al-Sabeen Square, the rallies called on “all Muslims to support the mujahideen in Gaza and Palestine with money, weapons, and everything that strengthens their steadfastness.”
They warned that “the nation’s neglect in defending al-Aqsa encourages the enemy to press ahead with its Greater Israel plan, reaching Mecca and Medina.”
The statement stressed that those who fail to act for Gaza and al-Aqsa will also fail to act for Mecca and Medina, and that anyone unmoved by the massacres in Gaza will not be stirred by massacres elsewhere in the Islamic world.
Disarming the resistance part of aggression
The rallies addressed recent regional developments, particularly calls to disarm the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon, noting that “the movement of the US-Israeli enemy and its tools against the resistance in Gaza, Palestine, and Lebanon to strip it of weapons is part of the aggression against the entire nation.”
They added that “enemy moves must be confronted by all forms of rejection, especially popular rejection, because it is the people who pay the heaviest price when they fail to act.”
Yemen declares readiness to confront hostile plots
The statement stressed: “We in the Yemen of faith and wisdom declare our readiness to confront any schemes or conspiracies in which the enemies move under any pretexts.”
Massive crowds had poured into al-Sabeen Square and other squares in Sanaa Governorate, declaring their solidarity with Palestine and Gaza, and their readiness to confront any future threats.
This comes after Yemeni Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi called on Yemenis and the broader Arab and Muslim world to rise up “If there had been widespread popular movements across Arab and Muslim countries, it would have influenced the decisions and positions of rulers and regimes,” he said.
