Preparations underway to resume Vienna talks' 8th round
The head of the Iran's delegations to the Vienna talks, Ali Bagheri Kani, has arrived to Vienna today to continue the negotiations.
The head of Iran's negotiating delegation, Ali Bagheri Kani, has arrived in the Austrian capital of Vienna for the resumption of the talks with the P4+1.
The new round of talks, intended to revive the JCPOA, between Iran and the P4+1 have begun, and is a continuation of the 8th round of talks.
Iran's IRNA news agency stated that this round will be devoted to the verification of US sanctions' removal, in two areas of verifications and assurances and how to evaluate US remedial measures, quoting a European source.
According to the same source, the IAEA is responsible for verifying nuclear commitment implementation, but the verification of sanctions removal is a more difficult issue.
Khatibzadeh: Negotiations will not remain forever
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed on Monday that Iran's negotiating delegation will arrive in Vienna today to continue negotiations on returning to compliance with the 2015 nuclear agreement, reiterating his country's refusal to set a time limit for the negotiations that started last year.
He warned that the negotiation window will not remain open forever, noting that "time is sensitive," and that the "ball is in the court of the US and the Western parties to prove their seriousness in adhering to the agreement."
The Spokesperson detailed that Iran is in Vienna to ensure the interest of the Iranian people and for the sake of lifting sanctions, adding that all guarantees must be obtained and all obstacles removed to allow the work of international companies and banks with Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had said last week that Iran needs to obtain sufficient guarantees that it would be able to sell its oil without any limits imposed. This would allow Iran to receive money directly in its national banks and in foreign currencies which would revitalize different sectors.
He also said that Iran is currently working on setting a timeline for talks with Saudi Arabia.
