Prisoner Awawdeh transferred to hospital in critical condition
The health condition of the Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike Khalil Awawdeh is getting worse, and the Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation calls on all human rights institutions to try to save his life.
Muhjat Al-Quds Foundation confirmed that the Israeli Supreme Court in occupied Al-Quds decided today to immediately transfer the hunger-striking prisoner Khalil Awawdeh from the Ramla prison clinic to a civilian hospital in the 1948 occupied territories, due to the criticality of his health condition.
It explained that prisoner Khalil Awawdeh is still continuing his open hunger strike for the 82nd consecutive day, in protest of his arbitrary administrative detention without any charge.
The Foundation mentioned that the Israeli occupation prisons administration brought Awawdeh to the Supreme Court session by ambulance, and he was rolled into the courtroom in a wheelchair, despite his serious health condition.
Muhjat Al-Quds holds the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the life of the prisoner because of their delay in responding to his just demands to cancel his arbitrary administrative detention decision.
At the beginning of this month, the Prisoners Club reported that the occupation prisons administration transferred Awawdeh to the "Asaf Harofeh" hospital, after falling critically ill.
It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities arrested Awawdeh, a father of four, on December 27, 2021, and a six-month administrative detention order was issued against him. He has previously been arrested several times since 2002, which makes this his fifth arrest, including three administrative detentions.
