Pro-Palestinian protesters storm NBC lobby to disrupt Biden appearance
Pro-Palestinian protesters continue to express their condemnation of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip by pressuring the Biden administration for its complicity in the war.
US President Joe Biden's appearance on NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" on Monday afternoon drew a crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators, marking the latest episode of progressive opposition to his administration's complicity in the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
"My national security adviser tells me that we’re close, we’re close. It’s not done yet, and my hope is that by next Monday we’ll have a ceasefire," Biden said on Monday.
Pictures of the protesters were shared on social media by the group Jewish Voice for Peace NYC. Some protesters were seen wearing shirts bearing the message "ceasefire now," while others held a banner with the words "Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide."
50 Jewish Voice For Peace activists were arrested this afternoon for their protest demanding #CeasefireNOW at 30 Rockefeller Center, while President Biden was being interviewed by Seth Meyers. https://t.co/s6AXN74bEz pic.twitter.com/GNlaveUH3m

“Hundreds of Jews and allies are taking over NBC’s famed 30 Rockefeller Center headquarters in NYC to disrupt President Biden’s appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. @POTUS deadly foreign policy has funded and armed genocide in Gaza,” the group wrote.
Another post suggested that "50 Jewish" protesters were detained while urging Biden to cease support for the Israeli occupation government and its aggression on Gaza, which the group described as "genocide" against Palestinians.
While pro-#Palestine protests have been sweeping across several #US cities, the local media in the US appear uninterested in covering such events, according to a recent report.#Gaza pic.twitter.com/fv5kuzfRbN

It has been an ongoing challenge for small cities and counties in the US to get coverage of pro-Palestine protests supporting a ceasefire when it occurs outside of state capitals - and even when coverage is reported, it often boasts support for “Israel”.
Truthout said that last month, NJ11 for Palestine held a vigil in Livingston, New Jersey, for the loss of Palestinian lives by "Israel". That same day, hundreds of Zionists yelled over them and called a 7-year-old girl a “future generation’s terrorist” as she read the names of dead Palestinians. Organizers also claimed that they spit on a Palestinian serving as a safety marshal while he was walking alone.
None of this was mentioned in the local pieces written by reporters, and neither was the vigil.
