Protests erupted on Saturday evening in several West Bank cities, calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza, according to Palestinian sources.
Palestinian media reported that security forces under the Palestinian Authority attempted to disperse the protests.
Outlets in the West Bank reported calls for a comprehensive strike across the West Bank on Sunday in solidarity with Gaza and in protest against the policies of siege and starvation.
Earlier in the day, Hamas issued a statement urging the international community and the Arab and Islamic world to mobilize globally against the occupation.
In their call, Hamas called for demanding action to save the Palestinian people in Gaza and condemning the systematic starvation campaign.
The Israeli occupation continues its genocidal war, blockade, and deliberate starvation campaign in Gaza amid a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, as the Gaza Health Ministry warned the territory is now experiencing actual famine conditions with severe shortages of basic food supplies and a dangerous spread of acute malnutrition among the population.
Gaza death toll nears 59,000, starvation grips the Strip
139 days into the complete closure of all border crossings into the Strip, the Government Media Office in Gaza issued a statement with details on recent figures. It said that during this period, "Israel" blocked the entry of approximately 76,450 humanitarian aid and fuel trucks.
The blockade created a critical shortage of food, medicine, and fuel. While dozens of children were already killed due to starvation, an estimated 650,000 children remain at risk of death from hunger and severe malnutrition. The death toll from malnutrition in Gaza rose to at least 69 children, with the total number of starvation-related fatalities reaching 620, according to the territory's Government Media Office.
The Health Ministry in Gaza also announced, according to its latest published figures, that the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 58,765 martyrs and 140,485 injuries since October 7, 2023, while the total number of Palestinians killed while attempting to secure food and aid has reached 891, with more than 5,754 injuries.
In yet another massacre targeting aid operations in Gaza, Israeli occupation forces bombed a humanitarian aid distribution point on Al-Tineh Street south of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday morning, killing over 25 Palestinians and wounding 70 others, according to the director of Nasser Medical Complex.
The strike hit civilians gathered to collect food aid, marking one of the deadliest recent attacks on aid-seeking Palestinians in Gaza.
