Rafah invasion forces pause in World Central Kitchen operations
Due to the forced displacement of Palestinians thought to be taking refuge in Rafah, which was formerly called a safe zone for Palestinians by the Israelis, the World Central Kitchen announces a halt in operations.
"Evacuation orders in Rafah have forced several WCK-supported community kitchens to pause cooking today," the World Central Kitchen (WCK) wrote in a new statement released on Wednesday.
In their statement, the WCK said, "Our field kitchens and community kitchens outside evacuation zones provided more than 168,000 meals in communities around Rafah and Deir al-Balah."

One month after 'Israel' killed seven workers, WCK to return to Gaza
The World Central Kitchen (WCK) resumed humanitarian works in Gaza a month after seven of their aid workers were killed by "Israel".
The WCK's CEO Erin Gore said in a statement, "The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire," adding, "We are restarting our operation with the same energy, dignity, and focus on feeding as many people as possible."
A news release on the group’s website stated that a Palestinian-run team is due to distribute aid and food starting April 29 from the organization’s three kitchens in Gaza.
"We will continue to get as much food into Gaza, including northern Gaza, as possible – by land, air, or sea," the statement noted.
Gore warned that aid workers are still under threat in Gaza, which likely contributed to handing the work to local Palestinians for now.
