Raisi calls for ceasefire in Gaza, 'Israel’s' expulsion from UN
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi affirms that the Islamic Revolution in Iran shall pursue its path, unstoppable and unhindered by any obstacles.
Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has restated Tehran's steadfast backing for the Palestinian people, emphasizing that Palestine remains at the vanguard of causes in the Muslim world, echoing the famous words of the Islamic Republic's founder, Ayatollah Ruhullah Khomeini.
Speaking at a large gathering in Tehran on the 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Raisi called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and highlighted that Western powers exerted strained efforts to deter Iran from supporting Palestine, but their attempts ended in failure.
“The Westerners tried so hard to make Iran stop defending Palestine and the ideals of the Islamic Revolution, whether through war or economic blockade and sanctions, and repeatedly sent messages saying ‘stop defending Palestine,’” he said.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is the flagbearer of the fight against terrorism. What is happening today in Gaza and Palestine is enough for everyone to know the United States and the Zionist regime and to see their big crime and child-killing, calling the act of denying access to water, medicine, and basic needs to these people a "crime against humanity."
He further stressed, in this context, that "the supporters of these [Zionist] criminals are the American regime and some Western countries."
'Palestine holds utmost significance in the Islamic world'
The Iranian President added that, after forty-five years since the Revolution's victory, it has become evident that "the Islamic Republic and our insightful Imam" were correct in asserting that Palestine holds the utmost significance in the Islamic world, emphasizing the imperative of liberating al-Quds.
"The Israeli entity is nearing its end; its demise is inevitable and it is merely killing time," he tersely stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian President suggested expelling "Israel" from the United Nations, stating that "those who violate UN resolutions cannot adhere to its laws and frameworks, and thus, they must be expelled."
'Iran, most Independent country in the world'
Raisi affirmed that the Islamic Revolution in Iran shall pursue its path, unstoppable and unhindered by any obstacles, adding that the complex war waged by Iran’s enemies to stop the progress of the Iranian people has failed thanks to the steadfastness of the Iranian people.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is the most independent country in the world," he said.
The Iranian President also noted that military language has been erased from the enemies’ jargon and is no longer used to address Iran.
Mass rallies across Iran on 45th anniversary of Islamic Revolution
Earlier today, rallies commemorating the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution were held in all provinces of Iran, including Tehran.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Tehran reported that Iranians flooded the fields and squares across Iran in light of the anniversary.
Millions have participated in these rallies in more than 1,400 cities and towns and more than 35,000 villages since this morning, eagerly anticipating President Ebrahim Raisi's speech in Azadi Square in Tehran.
Meet the Iranian Islamic Revolution
Iranians have initiated their celebrations since the beginning of this month as the “Ten-Day Dawn,” began. The latter is in memory of the first ten days of February 1979 as Imam Khomeini returned to Iran from France on February 1, 1979, after fifteen years of exile and distance from his homeland. Highly welcomed by the people of Iran, he paved the way for the Islamic Revolution's victory on February 11, 1979.
At the end of that day, 45 years ago, the victory of the Islamic Revolution was declared, bringing down the US-"Israel" backed Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and initiating the Islamic Republic System through a referendum.
It is noteworthy that the ground-to-ground missile system "Qaim 1" has been presented on the sidelines of these rallies in Tehran.
