Raisi finalizes Africa tour with multiple agreements
The Iranian President has reached his final destination in his Africa tour singing multiple agreements in educational, economic, and science sectors.
Iran and Zimbabwe have signed agreements on cooperation on a multitude of levels, including labor safety, employment, higher education, science, and technology, Nour News Agency reported on Thursday.
These agreements come as part of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Zimbabwe as he tours the African continent.
The deals were signed by top officials from both countries, in the presence of President Raisi and President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Iranian news agency added.
The Iranian President's visit to the three African countries is the first in 11 years and aligns with Iran's comprehensive foreign policy as it pursues economic multilateralism, aiming to bolster cooperation with allies in Africa and Latin America.
The head of state kicked off his tour in Kenya where he explored opportunities for enhancing trade and political ties while engaging with local business leaders, economic actors, and officials to tap into shared investment and trade potentials.
He then arrived in Uganda, where he spoke at an economic forum and welcomed President Yoweri Museveni's proposal on developing Uganda's energy sector via Iranian guidance. Raisi also praised Iran's Innovation and Technology Office in Uganda which has promoted agricultural, medical, scientific, and technological sectors in the African nation adding that Iran is willing to further develop joint work in these fields.
Iran is looking to enhance economic cooperation with allied nations all over the world in hopes of strengthening its relations with countries that share similar cultural and political values. The country looks to share its experience in essential sectors such as medicine, energy, and agriculture to fortify its ties with these nations at a time in which the influence of Western powers is dwindling.
Last month, the Iranian president went on an official tour to Latin America where he visited Nicaragua, Cuba, and Venezuela.
Ebrahim Raisi said that a new international order is emerging in favor of freedom-seeking, independent countries, emphasizing that opposition to arrogant powers has resulted in important successes.
