Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said, on Tuesday, during his meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad in Tehran, that the important message of his meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus lay in the meeting reflecting the "great victory of the resistance movement and its approach."
The meeting was attended by the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Samer al-Khalil, as well as the Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology, Iyad al-Khatib.
Raisi hoped that the near future would witness further development of bilateral relations between the two countries, and the full implementation of the agreements signed during Raisi's visit to Syria.
In turn, al-Miqdad stressed that following the path of unified resistance on the part of Iran and Syria "is an embodiment of the common denominators between the two countries," noting that the Axis of Resistance has shown that it is capable of defeating any plot against the region."
Al-Miqdad had also met with the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, who pointed out that "Washington is trying to create artificial crises in Syria through military campaigns and controlled conflicts," stressing that this aims to "disrupt the new process of de-escalation in the region, in addition to attempting to impose itself as an influential player in the Syrian arena."
The Syrian Foreign Minister underscored during the meeting that "the plot against Syria is not only sparking a large-scale war of organized terror," but also, "enemies have used all kinds of political and economic schemes on the local and international levels, including the policy of maximum economic pressure through sanctions."

Lastly, al-Miqdad concluded by saying that the illegal US military presence in Syria is "a violation of the principle of sovereignty and a violation of Syria's territorial integrity," adding that "terrorism, military aggression, and harsh sanctions cannot break the will of the Syrian nation."
US should leave Syria or be forced out
Al-Miqdad also stressed, during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart on Monday, that the US army should withdraw from Syria before it is forced out, noting that the US forces are present between the Syrian, Jordanian, and Iraqi borders "to prevent cooperation and movement" between the three countries.
During a joint press conference in Tehran with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, al-Miqdad addressed the Americans by saying: "Your crimes cannot continue, and the Syrian people will not tolerate them indefinitely," stressing that there are "hundreds and thousands of ways in which we learned how to conquer the aggressor."
Likewise, al-Miqdad confirmed that Damascus and its allies "are capable of ending the presence of ISIS," calling for the withdrawal of the international coalition, which only serves Israeli goals.
