Raisi: US has Inflicted Nothing but Destruction on Afghans
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi slams the US and the West for bringing "nothing but war, destruction, and bloodshed to the Afghan people."
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that the US has delivered nothing except war, destruction, bloodshed, and suffering to the Afghan people throughout its 20-year stay in Afghanistan.
In a meeting of the Administrative Council in South Khorasan Province, Raisi alluded to the fact that the US has not solved a thing for other nations and will definitely not solve anything for Iran.
He added, "The US imposed 20 years of misery on the Afghan people, left 35,000 children with special needs, destroyed homes, and committed massacres."
The President's remarks coincide with the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks in 2001.
During a phone conversation with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, Raisi discussed the Afghanistan situation and Michel indicated that this was a grave lesson for the west.
Raisi stressed that the continuation of sustainable relations with the EU depends on observing mutual respect between both sides, and dismissing the influence of some external elements, notably the US unilateral policies.
The cooperation of all countries was deemed essential to form an Afghan government trusted by the people, capable of achieving stability, security, and peace.
