Rallies in solidarity with Prisoner Al-Singace Continue in Bahrain
Vigils held in the town of Sanabis in Bahrain in solidarity with Prisoner Abdul Jalil Al-Singace continue for the second day, amid calls for his immediate release.
Vigils held in the town of Sanabis in Bahrain continue for the second day in solidarity with Prisoner Abdul Jalil Al-Singace, who has been on hunger strike for 130 days.
The protesters demanded the immediate release of al-Singace and all political prisoners in Bahraini prisons.
Bahraini human rights activist Ali Mushaima announced his intention to initiate protests in solidarity with al-Singace, confirming his intention to engage in an empty stomach battle. Mushaima indicated that he will start a sit-in in front of the Bahraini Embassy in the United Kingdom, starting next Monday, for a week.
Bahraini political prisoner, Dr. Abdul Jalil al-Singace, is continuing his empty stomach battle, which has been left largely under-reported in the media. He has been on a hunger strike for 130 days since last July.
Circulated information reported that al-Singace has lost more than 20 kilograms and his health condition is deteriorating.
He started a hunger strike in protest of constant harassment from prison guards who regularly monitor his phone calls, cut the phone line, and prevent him from sleeping, as well as arbitrarily confiscating his research work.
