Relatives of released Israeli captives: Hamas treated them 'humanely'
The Israeli Walla! website cites relatives of the released Israeli captives saying they "did not go through anything unpleasant."
Israeli media website Walla! cited relatives of the released Israeli captives saying the captives "didn't go through anything unpleasant, they were treated humanely."
According to the relatives, "There were no horror stories that we [families of captives] thought there might have been," stressing that despite the alleged initial threats by Hamas to beat anyone who would not cooperate, the captives said that "the moment they got on the motorcycles [on the way to the Strip] they [Hamas] didn't beat them."
Yesterday, Israeli media revealed that 24 captives were released, and "all of them are in relatively good condition."
Following over 6 weeks of the Israeli brutal war on Gaza, which was accompanied by a near-complete blockade, a full siege on the residents, and over 1,300 massacres during the short period, the Resistance was able to enforce its initial conditions of not releasing any Israeli captive unless through an indirect prisoner exchange.
The captive's release comes as part of the previously announced prisoner exchange agreement between the occupation entity and Resistance group Hamas, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, which saw the liberation of 150 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.
'Israel' to release 42 Palestinian women, children today
Israeli occupation authorities said 14 Israeli captives being held in the Gaza Strip would be released on Saturday in exchange for 42 Palestinian women and children on the second day of a truce deal.
The agreement stipulates an exchange ratio of three to one, with 42 Palestinian prisoners being released and 14 Israeli captives handed over, as per an Israeli official source.
This comes shortly after al-Qassam Brigades and the Palestinian Resistance factions in Gaza freed 39 female and underage male prisoners from Israeli occupation prisons, as part of the first batch of the truce agreement and the prisoner exchange deal, which began on Friday and will continue for four days.
However, Hamas announced a few hours ago that the Al-Qassam Brigades decided to suspend the release of the second batch of captives, noting that this decision comes after the Israeli occupation violated the terms of the truce agreement. Currently, talks are ongoing to solve this issue according to Egyptian sources.
