61 medical aid trucks to arrive in northern Gaza Strip: Red Crescent
Officials in the Gaza Strip say the current flow of supplies in the Gaza Strip will not suffice the needs of Gazans who have been under a tightened siege for the past 50 days.
The Red Crescent in Gaza confirmed that it had received 196 trucks filled with humanitarian aid on Friday, including water, medical supplies, and medicine, as the organization awaits another 61 trucks filled with medical supplies to northern areas in the Gaza Strip.
The supplies will finally make their way to northern areas of the Gaz Strip, following a siege that lasted nearly 50 days in these areas.
On his part, the head of the Crossings and Borders Authority said the 196 trucks that arrived at the Gaza Strip on Friday do not suffice the needs of more than 2 million Palestinians in the Strip. The official also stressed the need to urgently transfer injured individuals to hospitals outside the Gaza Strip, so that they could receive adequate medical treatment.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza said aid trucks continue to arrive in the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
On his part, the media director of the Rafah border crossing, Wael Abu Mohsen, said nearly 40 out of 200 trucks expected to cross into the Gaza Strip did so, adding that the trucks included limited amounts of fuel, propane, and food.
Abu Mohsen stressed that the aid that arrived in the Gaza Strip does not meet the needs of one shelter. He also confirmed that 20 injured Palestinians exit through the Rafah border crossing on a daily basis. The media official demanded that the border crossing be opened for more aid to flow into the besieged Strip.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Palestinian Resistance reached a mediated deal with the Israeli occupation that would see the release of 150 Palestinians from Israeli prisons, in exchange for the release of 50 Israeli captives; both of which are strictly women as well as children under the age of 19.
The deal, which went into effect on Friday morning, also includes the entry of humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, the Palestinian Resistance released 13 captives, in turn liberating 39 Palestinians from Israeli prisons.
Today, Israeli occupation authorities said 14 Israeli captives being held in the Gaza Strip would be released in exchange for 42 Palestinian women and children on the second day of the truce deal.
The agreement stipulates an exchange ratio of three to one, with 42 Palestinian prisoners being released and 14 Israeli captives handed over, as per an Israeli official source.
