Rep. Congresswoman calls Biden 'liar', 'hypocrite' over son's pardon
Marjorie Taylor Greene says outgoing President Joe Biden's pardoning of his son Hunter on two criminal charges acknowledges criminal guilt.
US President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, amounts to an acknowledgment of his son’s criminal conduct, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene pointed out on Monday.
Biden said in a statement circulated by the White House that he had signed a pardon for his son Hunter on two criminal charges, claiming that they were politically motivated.
"This pardon is Joe Biden’s admission that Hunter is a criminal," Greene wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
She lamented the fact that "Hunter Biden broke gun laws, he broke the FARA Act, and worst of all, he broke the Mann Act by sex trafficking women across the country."
The Republican Congresswoman further accused Biden of being "a liar and a hypocrite," saying that while Biden attempted to imprison President-elect Donald Trump’s sons, he has chosen to pardon his own, "even though he’s a convict."

Earlier, Trump responded to Biden's decision to pardon his son, calling it an "abuse and miscarriage of justice."
"Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!" he said on Truth Social.

Previously, Biden had repeatedly ruled out the possibility of pardoning his son. However, over the weekend, Hunter Biden's legal team circulated a 52-page report warning that Trump’s election victory could jeopardize Hunter's future.
Trump, prior to the election, had stated he would not rule out pardoning Hunter if elected.
Hunter Biden is the first child of a sitting US president to face criminal charges. He was charged with two counts of willful tax evasion, involving unpaid taxes exceeding $100,000 in 2017 and 2018.
Separately, he was charged with illegally possessing a Colt pistol in 2018 while using illegal drugs, a violation that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Hunter was found guilty by a jury and was scheduled for sentencing in December.
