Resistance is a 'Phoenix, infinitely reborn': Israeli media
An Israeli expert on Hamas details that the Resistance will never be defeated after Hamas' political bureau chief Yahya Sinwar was martyred in armed battle.
"Hamas will be able to re-establish itself from scratch, with skilled people who are no less than Sinwar," Guy Aviad, an Israeli researcher and Hamas expert, stated on Friday.
According to Aviad, while Yahya Sinwar is a major official, he is also only a soldier in the long battle between "Israel" and the Palestinians, the same battle that has been going on for decades.
He added that there are thousands of armed men in Gaza, enlisted with Hamas or other organizations.
"These organizations [of the Axis of Resistance] are like a phoenix, they are reborn each time, and they grow and change once again. Just like Imad Mughniyeh, who was truly a high-ranking and major official, Hezbollah was able to enhance its structure after him, and this reality should be placed on the table," he told Israeli Channel 13.
Speaking about Hamas' capabilities, Aviad said that although Sinwar was a great official, much of its structure was done even when he was in Israeli prisons. He indicated that "Hamas's overseas apparatuses were not affected in this war, nor was the office in the Gaza Strip, and the financial facet also remained intact, despite suffering a series of painful strikes."
Aviad acknowledged that all logistical, administrative, and strategic apparatuses of Hamas outside Gaza are still completely fortified, and capable of restoring these capabilities in the medium and long term.
He also addressed Hamas leadership abroad, stating "These leaders were untouched, and they have representations in Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, and Algeria, supported by a strong media presence."
In the same context, the media advisor for Channel 13 admitted that eliminating resistance movements is impossible. She stated, "Even if we fight them all the time, we won't be able to completely eradicate them. Historically, it's clear that they cannot be eliminated because they are fundamentally based on ideology."
Knesset member Aamit Levi also remarked, "There are now one and a half million Sinwar in Gaza. Therefore, we need to change our strategy from airstrikes to control; anything less would be deceiving the public."
On October 17, 2024, the Israeli occupation military claimed that it "eliminated" Sinwar in an operation in the southern Gaza Strip.
