The Palestinian Resistance carried out on Sunday an operation that targeted an Israeli occupation forces' position in the town of Karam Abu Salem. According to the al-Qassam Brigades, Resistance fighters targeted the location using a 114 mm short-range Rajum missile system.

According to a source in the Resistance, the targeted gathering was responsible for the aggression against cities in Rafah and included Israeli military and Shin Bet leaders. Reportedly, five were killed and 10 others were injured.

The sources said the Resistance's preparation for the operation, its setup, and intelligence capabilities, affirmed its capabilities to accurately and directly engage its targets.

It was simultaneously emphasized that the operation relayed several political messages, most notably the Resistance's readiness to defend the people of Palestine against reckless Israeli aggression, as well as military messages affirming the Resistance's capabilities and steadiness despite the "successes" the Israeli occupation claims it is achieving.

Israeli air defenses have been bombarding Rafah as a response to the Karem Abu Salem operation.

What Israeli media had to say

In turn, Israeli media described the incident in Karem Abu Salem as dangerous and stated that media censorship was imposed to conceal the target location.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli helicopters were called to Karem Abu Salem to evacuate the wounded.

Israel Today additionally described the operation as an "unusual incident" that led to casualties, echoing Channel 7's earlier report of seven wounded Israelis.

This comes after the Palestinian Resistance intensified its targeting of the Netzarim axis, established by the IOF in north-central Gaza and considered as a dividing corridor between Gaza City and its north on one hand and between the central and southern regions of Gaza on the other.

The Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, engaged gatherings of Israeli occupation forces troops near Kibbutz Nirim using a missile barrage.
