A wave of outrage has swept across Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements following the assassination of six Palestinian journalists in Gaza by "Israel", including journalist Anas al-Sharif. The killings, described as a “war crime of the highest order,” have drawn calls for urgent international action to hold "Israel" accountable.
The journalists: Anas al-Shareef, Mohammad Qreiqea, Ibrahim Zaher, Mo’men Alaywa, Mohammad Noufal, and Mohammad al-Khaldi were targeted in a direct drone strike on a press tent near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. A photojournalist, Mohammad Subh, was also injured in the attack.

Hezbollah: A deliberate attempt to silence the truth
In a strongly worded statement, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon (Hezbollah)’s Media Relations Office condemned the killings as “a full-fledged war crime,” stressing that the targeting was intentional and aimed at silencing media coverage of "Israel’s" crimes, massacres, and starvation campaigns in Gaza.
The group called on all media, human rights, and international organizations to prosecute "Israel" before competent international courts.
Palestinian resistance movements:
The Palestinian resistance factions collectively mourned the “martyrs of truth,” underscoring that journalists have become a frontline in the battle against occupation, no less important than armed resistance.
They warned that "Israel" seeks to commit further atrocities away from the cameras, and held it fully responsible for what they called “a premeditated and heinous crime.”
Popular Front: Truth is the occupation’s direct enemy
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) stressed that the attack demonstrates "Israel’s" fear of free and honest reporting.
The group praised the courage of Anas al-Shareef and his colleagues, whose work conveyed Gaza’s suffering to the world, and accused "Israel" of trying to "silence the media and extinguish the truth." It warned that silence from the international community makes it complicit in the crime.
Hamas: Threats turned into assassinations
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) revealed that the martyred journalists had previously been threatened by Israeli military spokespeople, describing the killings as "an act of fascist terror" and a sign of "total collapse of international law."
Hamas urged global journalists to intensify efforts to expose "Israel’s" crimes and demanded immediate action from the UN Security Council.
Democratic Front: Part of a larger plan for Gaza
Furthermore, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned the killings as a political decision tied to "Israel’s" wider plan to occupy Gaza, commit genocide, and forcibly displace its people.
The group said the strike was carried out with premeditation and called for international arrest warrants against top Israeli leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Syrian Social Nationalist Party: Truth cannot be assassinated
The Syrian Social Nationalist Party’s Media Office also mourned the journalists, affirming that their assassination forms part of a systematic campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people aimed at occupying Gaza, displacing its residents, and seizing its resources, including offshore gas.
The statement stressed that the targeting of those who convey the truth is an attempt to silence Palestine’s voice, but asserted that neither truth nor resistance can be extinguished by Israeli crimes.
A continuing assault on the press
Since the start of the war, at least 238 journalists have been killed in Gaza, making it one of the deadliest wars for media workers in modern history. Resistance movements insist that the assassination of Anas al-Sharif and his colleagues will not silence the truth, vowing to continue exposing "Israel’s" crimes.
