Resistance will respond to any attack on it in the region: IRGC chief
Major General Hossein Salami confirmed that the Resistance Front would retaliate against any regional attacks, and spoke about the role of martyrs in defending the shrines.
Addressing a congress in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad, the chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, confirmed while speaking about the role of the martyrs defending the shrines and the role of their families, that the Resistance Front will respond to any attack on it in the region.
Salami stressed that Palestine will continue to vigorously confront the Israeli occupation, supported steadfastly by all countries in the Resistance Axis. He stated that it has become clear how Muslims will determine their fate moving forward, adding, “The Resistance Front responds to every single act of aggression.”
The Resistance Front is destined for victory, the general declared, adding, “Palestine goes on, Lebanon shines, Yemen is standing, Afghanistan has humiliated the enemies, and Syria has driven the ill-wishers of Islam away.”
Salami highlighted the growing international support for Gaza, pointing to pro-Palestinian rallies in the US and European states, and noting that Palestine has won the hearts of people worldwide.
Earlier today, the leader of the Islamic Revolution in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, emphasized the importance of conveying the message of defending the shrines—which indeed defend human values—to conscientious individuals worldwide.
He also underscored the significance of having an international perspective, explaining that "any movement and revolution that neglects its international and regional atmosphere will suffer, just as the attempts of the Iranian nation were damaged in the Constitutional movement in Iran and the nationalization of the oil due, to their preoccupation with domestic issues and neglecting foreign interference."
Moreover, he pointed out that "the enemy planned to destroy the Islamic System by occupying the region and at the same time, by imposing economic, political, ideological, and religious pressures on Iran; with such a view, the movement of the defenders of the shrine saved Iran and the region." He emphasized that the goal of the West in forming ISIS "the goal of this organization was to create insecurity in the region, especially Iran, but the holy shrine defenders also neutralized this danger."
