Iran peaking in terms of power, global influence: Salami
Iranian Islamic Revolution Guard chief Hossein Salami underlines that Iran is gaining international influence and evergrowing power.
Major General Hossein Salami, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), proclaimed that Iran is at the peak of its strength, a position it hasn't seen in decades.
Speaking at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Salami emphasized Iran's undeniable global influence and resilience against longstanding sanctions.
"Iran possesses elements of global power that cannot be denied," Salami declared, underscoring the diminishing impact of US sanctions on the Islamic Republic. He pointed out that Iran's defense strategy now extends beyond its borders, advocating for a more proactive approach.
Salami referenced Operation True Promise, a significant military operation that targeted Israeli positions with a barrage of missiles and drones in retaliation for the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. The operation, according to Salami, marked a historic effort by Iran to assert its power and respond decisively to aggression.
In his speech, Salami paid tribute to the late President Ebrahim Raisi and his Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, lauding their achievements in expanding Iran's political horizons on the global stage.
Salami previously praised Raisi, saying former President Raisi bore the political responsibility of Operation True Promise.
Salami noted that Iran's enemies had mobilized all their economic, media, and intelligence resources to threaten Iran, highlighting that all their attempts had ultimately failed.
Moreover, he stressed that Iran possesses a significant level of political and diplomatic strength on the global stage and that the passing of President Ebrahim Raisi and his comrades would not diminish Iran's dignity and eminence.
He praised Amir-Abdollahian for advancing "resistance diplomacy," noting the respect he obtained from adversaries due to his sincerity and dedication.
Amir-Abdollahian, whom Salami referred to as the "martyr of the true promise," was honored for his relentless efforts and ultimate sacrifice.
Salami concluded by asserting that martyrdom was the only fitting reward for Amir-Abdollahian's significant contributions to Iran's evergrowing prowess.
