Russia's Ministry of Defense has briefed the press on the tally of the 56th day of operations in Ukraine.
A high-precision missile strike killed up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen and destroyed seven pieces of military equipment.
Operational-tactical and army aviation hit 73 Ukrainian military assets, while missile forces and artillery hit 1,053 Ukrainian military facilities. Moreover, Russia's air defense forces shot down six Ukrainian drones as well as two Tochka-U tactical missiles;
In total, 140 fixed-wing aircraft, 496 drones, 253 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,388 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 256 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,029 field artillery and mortars, as well as 2,232 special military vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian army have so far been destroyed during the operation.
Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said on Tuesday that US allies have aided Ukraine in bolstering its fleet of fighter aircraft. Although Washington has not provided Kiev with some of the Soviet-type weaponry it requested, countries with compatible gear in their arsenal have sent them.
The aid currently being sent to Ukraine, such as artillery pieces, radar systems and coastal defense systems, are tailored to the battles expected in Donbass, according to Kirby, who also added that Ukraine has received more tanks.
