Russia MoD unveils tally of 58th day of operation in Ukraine
The Russian missile and artillery forces have completed Thursday 1,285 firing missions against Ukrainian forces.
The Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, announced Friday that the Russian forces destroyed Thursday nine fuel depots, 37 command and mobilization centers, and an S-300 system near the settlement of Novoselka.
During a press briefing, Konashenkov said the Russian forces targeted 80 Nazis.
The Russian General highlighted that the Russian missile and artillery forces completed Thursday 1,285 firing missions and bombed 1,221 strongholds and locations for the mobilization of Ukrainian forces and military equipment.
He added that the aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit 58 Ukrainian military facilities, and the air defenses shot down seven Ukrainian UAVs.
"Up to a battalion of AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine) personnel was destroyed by Kalibr missiles in the area of the Meliorative railway station," Konashenkov pointed out.
Strategic transportation node
It is noteworthy that the Meliorative region is located at a strategic transportation node linking northern Ukraine to its south and east to its west, and links Donetsk, Kharkov, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia via Dnipro by highways.
Experts believe that the Russian forces intend to control this node, with the aim of paralyzing the movement of the Ukrainian forces and dismembering the areas that are still witnessing activities from Ukrainian forces and armed groups.
