Russia, PMF discuss effective response to international terror
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and the head of the PMF discuss the situation in the Middle East and ways to strengthen Russian-Iraqi relations.
The Russian Foreign Ministry witnessed on Monday a meeting between Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Foreign Minister, and the head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh Al-Fayyad.
According to a Russian Foreign Ministry statement, the two exchanged views on major Middle East issues, while the greatest attention was paid to the current situation in Iraq.
Bogdanov and Al-Fayyad stressed the need to continue strengthening efforts aimed at ensuring security and stability in the Middle East, with a focus on effective response to international terrorism, the statement pointed out.
The Russian Foreign Ministry statement indicated that the two touched on a number of ways to strengthen traditionally friendly Russian-Iraqi relations, as well as multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two friendly countries.
