Russia: Syrian air defense systems intercepted 2 Missiles, 4 Bombs
Al Mayadeen correspondent in Damascus reported on Friday that three explosions were heard in the skies over the Syrian capital and the southern region.
Syrian air defense systems shot down four guided bombs and two cruise missiles launched by Israel's F-16 fighters at the airports of Damascus and Al-Dimas on Friday, Col. Andrei Boldyrev, the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, said on Saturday.
"Syria's air defense systems destroyed two cruise missiles and four guided bombs over the course of an air defense battle," Boldyrev said.

Syrian state news agency SANA confirmed that the Syrian air defenses intercepted Israeli missiles over Damascus and the southern region.
On its part, the Syrian Defense Ministry said Syria intercepted Israeli missiles over Damascus, the first such aggression in more than a month.

In a statement, the Ministry pointed out that "the Israeli enemy carried out air strikes from the northeastern direction of Lake Tabarayya, targeting some points near Damascus," adding that Syrian air defenses intercepted most of the missiles.
It is noteworthy that in September, an Israeli aggression around the capital Damascus resulted in the martyrdom of five Syrian soldiers.
In June, Israeli aggression airstrikes put Damascus airport out of service for nearly two weeks, and in August and September, Israeli airstrikes targeted Aleppo airport.
