Russian air force troops reach Belarus as part of almost 9,000 troops
As part of the joint regional military group between Russia and Belarus, approximately 9,000 Russian soldiers will be arriving to Belarus, and troops began to arrive including the air force.
The first Russian air force troops arrive in Belarus today following the convoy of Russian troops that arrived on October 15 as part of the joint regional military group the two countries agreed on earlier.
According to the Belarusian Defense Ministry "The air force part of the regional grouping of troops started arriving in the Republic of Belarus from the Russian Federation."

A senior official of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, Valery Revenko, stated on Sunday, via Twitter, that slightly less than 9,000 Russian soldiers, would be arriving in Belarus as a member of the combined regional military force, and that the redeployment would take several days.
"The first troop trains with Russian servicemen who are part of the RGF [Belarusian-Russian military regional grouping] began to arrive in Belarus. The relocation will take several days. The total number will be a little less than 9 thousand people," Revenko said adding that on October 17, a briefing will be held to discuss further details pertaining to the military-political situation and the activities of the Belarusian armed forces.

Earlier, on Monday, October 10, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Kiev is making a grave mistake by opening a military front line against Belarus.
Lukashenko also accused the NATO chief of pushing Kiev to attack Minsk. He also noted his knowledge of some European countries' intention to also attack Belarus.
Earlier, on October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko agreed on the deployment of a joint regional group of forces in light of recent developments in Ukraine.
The Belta News Agency revealed this major turn of tides by citing official sources from Minsk: "In connection with the aggravation of the situation on the western borders of the Union State, we agreed to deploy a regional grouping of forces from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. This complies with our documents. They say that if the threat reaches the level it has now, we begin to use the Union State grouping of forces."
According to Lukashenko, the Belarusian Army constitutes the basis or majority of this formation.
