The Russian Defense Ministry reported Sunday that Russia's Vostok (East) grouping of soldiers had gained control of the village of Velikaya Novosyolka (also known as Velyka Novosilka) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

According to a statement from the ministry, "The offensive operations by the 5th Guards Independent Tank Brigade of the 36th Army and the 40th Guards Marine Brigade of the Vostok Group of Forces" led to the seizure of the settlement of Velikaya Novosyolka.

The ministry also reported that units from Russia's Tsentr (Center) group of forces had taken control of the settlement of Zelenoe (also known as Zelene) in the DPR.

In a related context, Russia's Black Sea navy fire units destroyed two unmanned surface vessels on their way to Crimea, as per the ministry.

"In the morning of January 26 this year, the Black Sea Fleet's on-duty firepower in the northwestern part of the Black Sea water area destroyed two unmanned surface vessels traveling in the direction of the Crimean peninsula," the statement read.

In the daily tally of Ukrainian losses, the Russian ministry reported that the Ukrainian armed forces have lost over 180 service members in the Kursk direction, as well as a Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and a self-propelled artillery battalion.

"Over the past day, the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces [in the Kursk direction] amounted to more than 180 service people, a US-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, four armored fighting vehicles, 10 vehicles, self-propelled artillery unit, two towed howitzers, mortar, three electronic warfare stations, as well as two UAV control points and ammunition depot were destroyed."

The ministry reported that since the operation in Kursk began, Ukraine lost over 55,000 troops, 319 tanks, 238 infantry fighting vehicles, 183 armored personnel carriers, 1,626 armored fighting vehicles, 392 artillery pieces, and 44 multiple rocket launchers, including 13 HIMARS and six US-made MLRS.

Over the last 24 hours, Kiev has lost up to 650 service members and four combat armored vehicles in the area of operations of Russia's Tsentr (Center) group of forces, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday.

"The enemy lost up to 650 service people, four armored combat vehicles, eight vehicles, and three field artillery guns," it stated.

The Zapad (West) troops destroyed six Ukrainian brigades in various districts of Kharkov (Kharkiv) and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), costing Kiev more than 390 servicemen. During confrontations with the Yug (South) faction, Kiev lost up to 200 servicemen and two ammo depots.

In addition, Ukraine lost up to 150 service members, one tank, and one armored vehicle in confrontations with Russia's Vostok (East) group of troops, as well as up to 40 service members as a result of the Sever (North) group's actions in the Kharkov area.

Russia's Dnepr (Dnipro) troops attacked Ukraine's personnel and equipment in the Zaporozhye and Kherson districts, killing up to 40 servicemen.
