Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson said, as quoted by Sputnik, that Russian forces have foiled an attempt by Ukrainian forces to target positions of the Vostok group in the South-Donetsk direction.

"An attempt by the enemy to attack the advanced positions of the ‘Vostok’ group of forces was thwarted in the south Donetsk direction. Motorized rifle units, with the support of artillery, destroyed two mortar crews, an anti-tank grenade launcher crew, and manpower," the spokesperson said.

In further detail, the spokesperson added that crews of Russian TOS-1A "Solntsepek" (Blazing Sun) thermobaric rocket launchers caused personnel damage in the Novomykhailivka region, while crews of high-power self-propelled mortars 2S4 'Tyulpan' removed a temporary deployment position of Ukrainian soldiers.

Concurrently, a Russian Lancet kamikaze drone also eradicated a Krab self-propelled tracked gun-howitzer in the direction of southern Donetsk, Sputnik quoted the spokesperson as saying.
