Russian Foreign Ministry summons UK Ambassador once again
The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed “a strong protest in connection with the frankly rude statements of the British leadership regarding Russia”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned UK Ambassador in Moscow Deborah Bronnert, on Thursday, to protest London’s statements against Russia and its President Vladimir Putin.
"On June 30, UK Ambassador to Moscow D. Bronnert was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. A strong protest was expressed to her in connection with the frankly rude statements of the British leadership regarding Russia, its leader and official representatives of the authorities, as well as the Russian people," the ministry said in a statement.
The diplomat received a note stating that London's rhetoric is "unacceptable."
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stated that the “crazy, macho" invasion of Ukraine, which has killed hundreds of innocent people, is a "perfect example of toxic masculinity,” stressing that the war could have been avoided if the Russian President Vladimir Putin was a woman.
"If Putin was a woman, which he obviously isn't, but if he were, I really don't think he would've embarked on a crazy, macho war of invasion and violence in the way that he has," Johnson said as quoted by German broadcaster ZDF on Tuesday evening.

In response, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said as quoted by state news agency RIA Novosti that "good old (psychoanalyst Sigmund) Freud would have loved having in his lifetime such a subject for his research".
On her account, meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Johnson of harboring "sweaty fantasies."
"What have the 7 been doing together?" she questioned on Telegram, in reference to the recent Group of Seven leaders' meeting in Germany.
It is worth noting that the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned UK Ambassador in Moscow Deborah Bronnert last May to protest London’s latest sanctions most notably against All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
Britain imposed sanctions on individual journalists and media organizations earlier in May in its latest wave of draconian sanctions designed to increase pressure on Moscow.
