Russian MoD: 100+ Ukrainian covert ops and foreign mercenaries eliminated
Russia's Ministry of Defense says high-precision missiles were used to strike a Ukrainian base, killing over 100 troops and mercenaries.
Russia's armed forces targeted a training center for Ukraine's military, killing over 100 Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.
"High-precision air-launched missiles struck the training centre for covert operations forces of the Ukrainian military, where foreign mercenaries were based, near the settlement of Ovruch in the Zhitomir region", Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday, noting that over 100 troops and mercenaries were killed.
He also said that the Russian army eliminated one of Ukraine's major fuel bases, in addition to other military objects.
Russian ships have also destroyed an armored vehicle repair plant used by Ukrainian forces with Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea, according to Konashenkov.
The strike took place in the early morning hours on Sunday.
"Workshops at the Nizhyn repair plant used for the repair of Ukrainian armored vehicles damaged in combat operations were destroyed with sea-based Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the waters of the Black Sea," Konashenkov said.
Moreover, Kalibr missiles launched from the Caspian Sea and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles launched from over Crimea destroyed a Ukrainian base used to store fuel and lubricants in the Mykolaiv region. The base was used to supply fuel to Ukraine's armored vehicles south of the country.
Russian forces, in addition to the DPR and LPR militias, continue to advance in Donbass, tightening the encirclement around the remaining Ukrainian forces in Mariupol.
