Russian MoD: There will be no mercy for the mercenaries in Ukraine
Russian military knows the whereabouts of all foreign fighters in Ukraine and pledges to continue shelling their positions, according to Russian MoD.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said, on Monday, that Western governments that encourage their citizens to enlist in Ukraine will be held accountable for their deaths, vowing to launch similar strikes like the one that destroyed the Yavorov base and show no mercy to mercenaries.
In a statement, Russian military spokesperson Major-General Igor Konashenkov said that “all locations of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine are known to us.”
“I want to warn you again – there will be no mercy for the mercenaries, no matter where they are on the territory of Ukraine,” he added.
The top military figure went on to say that a number of Western governments have encouraged their citizens to fight as mercenaries against Russian troops, stating that "all further responsibility for the death of this category of foreign citizens in Ukraine rests solely with the leadership of these countries."
"Targeted strikes will continue," Konashenkov said, referring specifically to the cruise missile attack on the military bases in Yavorov and nearby Starichi in western Ukraine on Sunday.
At the time, Moscow announced that its forces shelled a training center for foreign mercenaries in Lvov, killing 180 and destroying a Western arms storage facility.
The attack on the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security, the official name of the military base near Yavorov, killed 35 people and injured 130, according to Kiev officials. NATO personnel had been using it for years to train Ukrainian troops.
While Ukrainian authorities claim that no foreign mercenaries were killed in the strike, several UK media outlets have reported that three former British special forces operatives died at Yavorov, and that "many more were killed within the site than has been claimed."
Meanwhile, Washington insisted that there were no "US troops, contractors, or civilian government workers" at Yavorov.
All firing positions set up by neo-Nazis in the suburbs of Mariupol have been destroyed, the Russian defense ministry revealed on Monday, pledging to continue shelling their positions.
Revealing the damage Russia is inflicting on the Ukrainian military and mercenaries, the Russian ministry of defense revealed that its forces destroyed 86 military infrastructure facilities, including three ammunition storages. Moscow's forces also downed 145 Ukrainian UAVs and destroyed 1298 tanks and armored vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine.
Last night alone, the Russian Armed Forces downed four Ukrainian UAVs, including a Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 UAV.
The Russian Defense Ministry has also diivulged, on Monday, that 3,920 military infrastructure facilities in Ukraine have been disabled since the start of the military operation on February 24, 2022.
