Russian MoD: Tanks provided by eastern Europe destroyed in Kiev
NATO weapons are a hot target for Moscow.
On Sunday, Russian defense ministry Igor Konashenkov revealed that Russia has destroyed tanks that were provided by eastern European countries to Ukraine during their operation in Kiev.
"High-precision, long-range missiles fired by the Russian Aerospace Forces on the outskirts of Kyiv destroyed T-72 tanks supplied by eastern European countries and other armored vehicles that were in hangars," Konashenkov said.
Kiev's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said early this Sunday that the Ukrainian capital has seen "several explosions in Darnytsky and Dniprovsky districts of the city." The strikes were the first of their kind since April 28.
Furthermore, several cruise missiles were fired toward Kiev, according to the Ukrainian air force. The aircraft was spotted as Russian TU-95 planes, which were based in the Caspian Sea. One of them was destroyed.
