Russia's Ministry of Defense says that “the Russian armed forces are completing the destruction of the Donbass nationalist battalion.”
Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said, on Sunday, that the Russian air force has neutralized 89 Ukrainian military objects and downed seven drones over the past 24 hours.
"During the day, the operative-tactical and army aviation has destroyed 89 Ukrainian military objects. This includes four command and control stations, two multiple rocket launchers, nine artillery weapons, and five depots of missile and artillery weapons and munitions, as well as 65 hubs of military equipment," Konashenkov told reporters.
"The Russian armed forces are completing the destruction of the Donbass nationalist battalion," he added.
The Russian forces advanced 12 kilometers during the day, reaching the settlement of Nikolske and blocking the settlement of Solodke in coordination with the forces of the Donetsk People's Republic, according to the spokesperson.
The top Russian military figure went on to say that the Russian forces "destroyed, in the course of advance, up to 60 militants, two tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, six units of field artillery weapons and grenade launchers belonging to nationalists. “
Russian MoD: About 130,000 civilians held hostage in Mariupol
Ukrainian nationalists in Mariupol are holding up to 130,000 civilians hostage, according to Mikhail Mizintsev, the commander of the Russian National Defense Control Center.
he said that the city is currently hostage to up to 130,000 inhabitants and 184 foreign citizens from six nations.
Over the last three days, the Russian military has assisted in the evacuation of 59,304 individuals from the besieged city to Russia, including 139 international citizens, Mizintsev added.
Russian MoD: Ukrainian Nationalists killed Up to 235 Civilians Fleeing Mariupol Daily
According to Mizintsev, Ukrainian nationalists terrorize neighborhoods under their control in the besieged city of Mariupol, killing between 80 and 235 citizens who try to evacuate each day.
Mizintsev revealed that "there is a terrible humanitarian catastrophe in Mariupol as a result of the lawlessness brought about by Ukrainian nationalists," describing them as "desperate and mindless bandits," that when realizing the impossibility of receiving any assistance from Kiev, "terrorize those neighborhoods of the city that are still under their control,"
He stated that Russia obtains reliable information about awful atrocities committed by militants at the end of their rope.
"It has been established that from 80 to 235 innocent citizens die every day at the hands of the Nazis, this is a terrible statistic for the last three days only. These are the people that are trying to leave the city on their own, the militants simply shoot them," Mizintsev stated.
He urged Mariupol's officials to make a "historic choice" and stand up to the outlaws in their city rather than accompanying them to the war tribunal.
Earlier today, Russia's armed forces targeted a training center for Ukraine's military, killing over 100 Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries, according to Konashenkov.
He also stated that the Russian ships have also destroyed an armored vehicle repair plant used by Ukrainian forces with Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Black Sea.
It is worth mentioning that Russian forces, in addition to the DPR and LPR militias, continue to advance in Donbass, tightening the encirclement around the remaining Ukrainian forces in Mariupol.
