A special source for the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) denied the claims made by US President Donald Trump, who posted footage of an attack on an alleged secret meeting of military leaders preparing for naval operations.
The source clarified that the video posted by Trump, which he claimed showed a military leaders' gathering, was actually a social event held for Eid al-fitr celebrations in Hodeidah governorate.
Such events are organized in various provinces during every holiday and occasion, a fact well-known to all the people of Yemen, the source noted.
According to the source, there is no connection, as falsely claimed by Trump, between those who were present at the gathering and the military operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF), which are enforcing the maritime blockade on US- and Israeli-linked ships.
Many social media users shared footage of similar traditional gatherings held during holidays, with many including children.

The source indicated that "this heinous American crime, which resulted in dozens of martyrs and wounded, reflects the extent of American bankruptcy and failure in its aggression against Yemen."
He added that the latest crime is "an extension of the genocide being carried out by the Israeli-American aggression in Gaza."
The source stressed that this horrific crime will not be forgotten and that the Yemeni Armed Forces, who stood by the people of Gaza, will not allow the blood of the Yemeni people to be wasted in vain.
On Friday, Trump shared a video on his social media accounts, claiming it depicted the killing of numerous fighters in an American strike on Yemen, with the caption "oops".

"These Houthis gathered for instructions on an attack," Trump wrote, using an alternative spelling of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement.
"Oops, there will be no attack by these Houthis," he added. "They will never sink our ships again!" Trump indicated, referring to the YAF's military operations in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza and in response to the ongoing American assaults against Yemeni territory.
On Thursday, Yemeni Health Ministry spokesperson Anis al-Asbahi announced that at least 92 civilians have been killed and 165 others wounded in US airstrikes on Yemen since mid-March.
Since "Israel" relaunched its war on Gaza, the YAF resumed their operations in the Red Sea, reiterating that they would not cease their actions unless the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian enclave ends and the siege is lifted.
On Wednesday, the US announced it would deploy a second aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, to join the USS Harry S. Truman in the Middle East "to continue promoting regional stability, deter aggression, and protect the free flow of commerce in the region."
