US Senator Bernie Sanders cautioned on Monday that the United States should steer clear of both military and financial involvement in what he described as another unlawful war initiated by "Israel".
"Netanyahu started this war by attacking Iran. He assassinated Ali Shamkhani, Iran’s lead nuclear negotiator, deliberately sabotaging US-Iran nuclear negotiations," Sanders stated on X.
Sanders warned that the United States must not be pulled into “another illegal Netanyahu war,” highlighting concerns over deepening military engagement and financial commitments in the Middle East.

Trump hints at possible US military role in war on Iran
US President Donald Trump indicated on Sunday that the United States may become militarily involved in the ongoing Israeli assault against Iran, a conflict that has already resulted in the deaths of civilians, nuclear scientists, and senior Iranian commanders.
In a previously undisclosed interview with ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott, Trump stated, "It's possible we could get involved" in the conflict, while simultaneously claiming that the US is "not at this moment" engaged.
This thin veil of neutrality contrasts sharply with revelations from Axios that "Israel's" attack was conducted with an unambiguous green light from Washington. "We had a clear US green light," one Israeli official admitted, exposing the coordinated nature of the aggression.
