Saree: Large advance of UAE, ISIS mercenaries repelled

The Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesperson confirms targeting UAE and ISIS mercenaries by ballistic missiles, causing large numbers of deaths and injuries.

Yemeni armed forces Spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced Wednesday repelling a huge advance by UAE and ISIS mercenaries toward Shabwa and Marib governorates. 

Saree indicated that the mercenaries' advance lasted for several hours but failed to achieve any progress despite the intense air cover it received.

The Brigadier General confirmed that the UAE and ISIS mercenaries were targeted by two ballistic missiles, which led to a huge number of deaths and injuries, and ambulances were seen rushing to transport them after the successful strike.

Earlier, Saree confirmed that "more than 515 people were killed, including leaders, and the number of injuries exceeded 850, and more than 200 UAE mercenaries were missing in Shabwa, according to intelligence sources."

Saree also revealed that the UAE material losses amounted to more than 102 armored vehicles, in addition to the destruction of numerous large and advanced weapons.

The Armed Forces Spokesperson announced on Tuesday the downing of a UAE spy plane over the Ain District in Shabwa Governorate.

Last Wednesday, the Yemeni Armed Forces also shot down an armed spy plane as it carried out hostile acts in the airspace of the Usaylan District of Shabwa Governorate in Yemen.
