Israeli occupation fighter jets launched airstrikes against the Syrian capital of Damascus from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, military sources revealed.

The source stated that the Israeli aggression targeted several points south of Damascus, at around 1:00 pm, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of a number of individuals and injuries to civilians, in addition to material losses.

The Iranian Tasnim agency pointed out that the Israeli aggression in the area of Sayyeda Zainab in Damascus "targeted an Iranian advisory center," adding that "several were reportedly martyred and injured."

'Israel' strikes over 150 Syrian military targets after fall of Assad

Earlier today, the Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps in Iran, Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, said the Israeli occupation is set on a downhill track toward its demise after it expanded the war to include multiple fronts across the region.

On the sidelines of the Martyrs' Forum, Brigadier General Fadavi told Al Mayadeen that "the Americans and Israelis are fearful, and they have become certain that Israel will not [last] to see its eightieth year."

Fadavi explained that "Israel" has been hellbent on committing crimes for 75 years, but today the Israelis are anxious, furious, and flailing to save face; "uttering nonsense".

Earlier this month, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said "Israel's" ongoing war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, violations of Lebanon and Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and open support for organized terrorism pose an "immediate danger to regional and global peace and security.

Kanaani called "Israel's" terror operations "desperate" and explained that they expose the regime's clear weakness and the tremendous blow it has received on the battlefield, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

He added that evil acts would not make up for the occupation's defeat and its three months of "warmongering against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank."
