Ali Shamkhani, Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, offered condolences to the people of Lebanon, Hezbollah, and the Resistance front after the martyrdom of senior Hezbollah commander Haitham Ali Tabatabai and his comrades. They were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Haret Hreik area in Beirut’s southern suburb on Sunday.
In a post published on X, Shamkhani said the continuation of crimes by “Israel” will not ensure a secure future for the occupation. Rather, he stressed that such aggression will make the path of the Resistance more inevitable and clear.
Shamkhani stated that the “fake Israeli entity understands nothing but the language of resistance,” underscoring that confrontation remains the only response that the occupation comprehends.
Condolences to Lebanon, #Hezbollah, and #Resistance on the martyrdom of Commander Haytham Ali Tabatabai and his comrades. #TelAviv’s crimes neither ensure Zionists’ safety nor stop the inevitable path of resistance. The fake Zionist regime knows only the language of resistance.

Senior Hezbollah commander martyred
Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of Tabatabai in an official statement on Sunday, describing him as a commander who sacrificed his life for Lebanon and its people. The movement said he fell as a result of a treacherous Israeli strike on a residential building.
The assassination of Tabatabai marks another escalation in the Israeli occupation’s ongoing attacks targeting Beirut’s southern suburb, as the Resistance affirms that these crimes will only strengthen its resolve.
Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health's emergency operations center released the official toll of the unprecedented Israeli attack on Beirut's Southern Suburb on Sunday, November 23.
The Lebanese government body stated that the attack on a residential area resulted in five martyrs and 28 wounded.
Iran condemns Tabatabai killing
The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the assassination of martyred Hezbollah leader Haitham al-Tabatabai (aka Sayyed Abu Ali), who was martyred on Sunday following an Israeli air aggression on the Southern Suburb of Beirut. The operation also claimed the lives of several of his companions.
In a statement issued Sunday night, the ministry described the aggression by Israeli warplanes as a “cowardly assassination” and a blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and the 2024 ceasefire agreement.
The Iranian statement labeled the strike as a terrorist act and a war crime, demanding that the leaders of the Israeli entity be held accountable. It emphasized that the attack constituted a direct breach of Lebanon’s territorial integrity.
Offering condolences to Hezbollah’s leadership, the ministry hailed Tabatabai as a figure who "dedicated his life to defending Lebanon and resisting the Israeli enemy."
