Sinwar to send message to Palestinian people, world soon: Hamdan
Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan affirms that the Palestinian Resistance group remains well-equipped to continue its fight against "Israel".
Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar will soon send a direct message to the Palestinian people and the world, revealed Osama Hamdan, a senior official in the Palestinian group, on Sunday.
"There will be a direct message from Yahya Sinwar to the Palestinian people and the world, and they will hear it soon," Hamdan told Al Manar.
It is impossible to imagine a scenario in which Sinwar would leave the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian official said in an interview for AFP.
He made it clear that Sinwar and other leaders "are ready to be martyred thousands of times in Palestine rather than leaving it because everything he is doing is to free Palestine."
Hamdan further revealed that Hamas seeks “joint Palestinian rule” in Gaza, confirming that officials from the movement and other Palestinian factions will soon convene in Cairo to discuss post-war plans.
"The day after the battle is an all-Palestinian day," he underlined.
Hamdan affirmed that the Palestinian Resistance group remains well-equipped to continue its fight against "Israel", despite the heavy toll of more than 11 months of war in Gaza.
"The Resistance has a high ability to continue," he said, adding, "There were martyrs and there were sacrifices... but in return there was an accumulation of experiences and the recruitment of new generations into the resistance."
His remarks come shortly after Israeli occupation Security Minister Yoav Gallant claimed that Hamas "no longer exists" as a military force in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces growing international and internal pressure to negotiate a deal for the release of captives in exchange for Palestinian detainees.
Tensions escalated following the Israeli military's announcement that six captives were found dead in a Gaza tunnel, sparking a labor strike and widespread protests in Tel Aviv and occupied al-Quds.
Touching on the matter, Hamdan slammed the United States, one of the sides mediating a deal along with Egypt and Qatar, for failing to exert enough pressure on "Israel".
"The American administration does not exert sufficient or appropriate pressure on the Israeli side," he indicated, adding that "rather it is trying to justify the Israeli side's evasion of any commitment."
Yemeni strike exposes limits of "Israel's" ability to "defend itself"
In a related context, the senior Hamas official discussed the latest Yemeni missile strike that targeted an Israeli military site near Tel Aviv, saying that it demonstrated the limits of "Israel's" ability to "defend itself", even with its advanced aerial defense systems.
"It is a message to the entire region that Israel is not an immune entity," Hamdan emphasized, adding, "Even Israeli capabilities have limits."
Moreover, the Palestinian official reiterated his view that a recent shooting operation at the Jordanian border with the occupied West Bank, in which a Jordanian truck driver killed three Israeli police officers, reflected the deep anger toward the Israeli occupation entity across the region.
Addressing Arab nations that have normalized ties with "Israel" or are considering doing so, Hamdan urged them to reflect on how they would react if their own lands were occupied.
"If you see Israel as a blessing and a gain... give them a piece of your country," he said, jokingly adding that it could be called "the new Israel."
