Solidarity vigil at TeleSUR for journalists killed by 'Israel'
A gathering of journalists and activists convened for a solemn vigil outside the TeleSUR network's building in Caracas, expressing unwavering solidarity with Al Mayadeen.
A group of journalists and activists held a vigil outside Telesur network's building in Caracas in solidarity with Al Mayadeen's martyrs Farah Omar, Rabih Me'mari, and Hussein Akil, in addition to all the journalists who were killed by "Israel" during its recent aggression on Gaza.
The vigil was attended by Fadi Alzaben, the Palestinian ambassador to Venezuela, and Patricia Villegas Marin, the founder and president of the TeleSUR network. Also present were activists, supporters of the Palestinian cause in Venezuela and Latin America, and members of the journalistic community.
During the vigil, banners bearing the names of journalists who were killed in Gaza and Lebanon by Israeli airstrikes were raised.

The participants conveyed their support and solidarity with the journalists who lost their lives due to Israeli aggression, underscoring that the occupation intentionally goes after those who uncover its crimes, resulting in the suppression of the truth.
'We stand by Al Mayadeen'
The founder and president of the TeleSUR network Patricia Villegas Marin conveyed a message to the families of the martyred journalists, particularly those from Al Mayadeen, expressing solidarity and stating that we stand by Al Mayadeen.
"We fully comprehend their choice to persist in journalistic coverage, even when it entails risking their own lives," she said.
The president of TeleSUR further acknowledged the commitment of journalists to continued reporting, which Al Mayadeen's journalists did side by side with their fellow journalists killed during the Israeli aggression in Gaza.
It's important to highlight that the number of journalists killed in Gaza has reached at least 63 since the initiation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza. The deliberate targeting by the occupation is part of its strategy to eliminate evidence, obscure chances to document its war crimes, and undermine the Palestinian narrative.
In addition to targeting Palestinian journalists in Gaza, "Israel" also targeted our colleagues in Lebanon. On November 21, our beloved colleagues Farah, Rabih, and Hussein, were martyred in an Israeli airstrike that directly targeted them in southern Lebanon while performing their professional duty in covering events at the Lebanese-Palestinian border.
The delegations of sympathizers continue to gather at the courtyard of Al Mayadeen channel to offer condolences for their martyrdom.
