Source close to Hamas: No pressure on Hamas to leave Qatar: Exclusive
A Palestinian source close to Hamas confirmed to Al Mayadeen that the rumors regarding the movement’s leadership being subjected to pressure to leave Qatar are false.
A Palestinian source close to Hamas confirmed to Al Mayadeen that what is being circulated in some foreign and Arab media about the Movement’s leadership being subjected to pressure to leave Qatar is untrue.
The source further emphasized that Hamas's political leadership is not seeking an alternative place of residence. They asserted that the rumors are part of a media campaign aimed at exerting pressure, particularly as the movement persists in its demand to halt aggression and secure the withdrawal of the occupation army from the Gaza Strip as a precursor to a potential prisoner exchange agreement.
Earlier today, a source in the Palestinian Resistance's leadership relayed to Al Mayadeen that Hamas affirmed the absence of any foundations of negotiation with the Israeli occupation, noting that an alternative path could be considered due to the dead-end the movement has been facing on its current course.
According to the source, after Hamas responded to the mediators' proposal, contact was not made with the US or "Israel". The Israeli occupation's representatives stated that Hamas' response signified a failure of negotiations, stressing that no envoy would be sent until the movement shifted its stance.
However, Hamas remains committed to its four non-negotiables: the withdrawal of all occupation forces, the halt of military operations, the return of displaced Palestinians, and the reconstruction of Gaza.
