Source discloses to Al Mayadeen details of IOF kidnapping in Golan
A source has confirmed to Al Mayadeen that Israeli occupation forces, which kidnapped Ali Suleiman Al-Assi from Syrian territory, have kept the matter under wraps until today.
A source speaking to Al Mayadeen revealed that the Israeli occupation army did not announce the kidnapping of Syrian citizen Ali Suleiman al-Assi until today and kept the matter secret throughout this period.
The source elaborated that the occupation forces infiltrated al-Assi's farm in the town of Saida, located in the occupied Golan, just hundreds of meters from the separation strip.
According to the source, Israeli forces detained Ali Suleiman al-Assi on July 18 while he was on his farm in the village of Saida in southern Quneitra.
The source further revealed to Al Mayadeen that al-Assi was kidnapped while working in the milk transportation business between Damascus and Quneitra.
Not an isolated incident
This comes after CCTV footage was released, showing a force of around 25 Israeli soldiers abducting a person from Batroun in north Lebanon.
The individual kidnapped in the Batroun area of northern Lebanon was identified as Imad Amhaz, a civilian naval officer, the Lebanese Minister of Public Works in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, told Al Mayadeen on Saturday.
Hamieh stated that "the kidnapping of Amhaz took place just 100 meters from his residence," noting that "there are ongoing talks with the Interim Force operating in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) since they are in charge of monitoring the Lebanese coast."
The Lebanese Minister of Public Works posed a rhetorical question, "If it is proven that the kidnapping was carried out via a sea landing, then where is the enforcement of Resolution 1701?"
He emphasized that UNIFIL's mission is to periodically monitor the Lebanese coast from Naqoura to al-Arida.
Meanwhile, a security source told Al Mayadeen, "The kidnapped individual in Batroun, northern Lebanon, is the captain of a civilian ship, not an officer in the Lebanese army."
The same source explained that "the occupation army carried out a landing operation in Batroun, in northern Lebanon," emphasizing that the kidnapped individual was a civilian naval officer.
