During a phone call on Saturday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez notified US President Joe Biden of his readiness to follow a political solution that would bring a peaceful and secure "coexistence" between "Israel" and Palestine.
Sanchez took to social media platform X to say, "I just had a telephone conversation with President Joe Biden ... We discussed the dramatic situation in Gaza, and I expressed my willingness to seek a political solution that will make it possible for the State of Palestine and the State of Israel to coexist in peace and security".

According to Sanchez, both leaders reiterated the need to back transatlantic unity to overcome global challenges.
Sanchez has previously raised concerns about the footage depicting the increasing civilian death toll in Gaza, mainly among children, and stated, "I have serious doubts Israel is complying with international humanitarian law."
He condemned the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians, particularly thousands of children, deeming such actions "completely unacceptable".
In the face of imperialism
Last week, according to Spanish radio Cadena SER, the prime ministers of Spain, Belgium, Ireland, and Malta submitted a united letter to European Council President Charles Michel with a plan to settle the war on Gaza, which included help to the Palestinian Authority to seize control of the besieged strip.
The reports detail that Spanish PM Sanchez, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, and their Maltese counterpart, Robert Abela urged for financial and political assistance to the Palestinian administration to maintain control over the situation.
The plan also includes limited mobility in particular regions, as well as the freezing of assets of Israeli settlers who have engaged in attacks against Palestinians.
Just today, Manu Pineda, a Spanish member of the European Parliament, revealed in an exclusive interview with Al Mayadeen during a visit to Cuba that he condemns "Israel's" crimes in Gaza.
"From here, from Cuba, the island of dignity surrounded by imperialism and which has not stopped expressing its support for this issue, we condemn the crimes of the occupation government."
He also affirmed that the occupation could "never beat the determination of the Palestinian people", adding that it only takes one look at a Palestinian child's smile to recognize that they are unbeatable.
Pineda then added that "Israel" is not only losing military battles but political battles as well.
