Spanish Newspaper: Morocco and "Israel" to Sign Military Deal
El Espanol reveals that Morocco will agree with "Israel" on building a military base in Melilla city and reports concerns by Spanish authorities who considered it a security threat.
El Espanol newspaper reported that Morocco will sign an agreement with the Israeli occupation to build a military base south of Melilla.
The Spanish newspaper pointed out that the agreement plan raised the fears of the Spanish authorities, who considered it as a security threat to the city of Melilla.
It also revealed that Spanish foreign intelligence officials warned against the plan, which far surpasses the roadmap set by the normalization agreement signed in 2020 between Morocco and the occupation.
Morocco, "Israel," and the US signed a tripartite agreement on December 23, 2020, which included several memoranda of understanding to establish relations between Morocco and the Israeli occupation under Washington's sponsorship.
According to the Walla Israeli website, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said relations between the two will be normal and will include high-level political meetings and visits.
Morocco is the fourth Arab country, following the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan, to have normalized ties with the Israeli occupation.
A few days ago, Morocco's national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced the start of direct flights to "Israel," a year after normalizing ties.
On July 16, 2021, the Israeli National Cyber Directorate signed a cooperation agreement with Morocco, the first of its kind in the field of cyber security since the normalization of ties between Morocco and the occupation.
