Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza reported Sunday that at least 37 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Strip since dawn.
In Gaza City’s al-Daraj neighborhood, eight Palestinians were killed in a harrowing massacre after Israeli warplanes struck residential homes. Another Palestinian was killed and several others were wounded in a separate strike near a local mosque in the same area.
Israeli warplanes also carried out raids on northwestern Gaza City and the Tal al-Hawa district in the southwest. In central Gaza, a young Palestinian was shot dead during an Israeli incursion into al-Maghraqa.
Al-Awda Hospital in al-Nuseirat said it received four bodies of martyrs and 23 wounded over 24 hours, including seven children and nine women, following Israeli strikes on refugee camps.
Casualty figures surge amid humanitarian crisis
Hospitals received the bodies of 75 martyrs, including four retrieved from under the rubble, and 304 injuries in 24 hours, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced in its daily report on Sunday. Many victims remain trapped beneath debris and along roads, unreachable due to continued bombardment.
Since October 7, 2023, as of September 21, 2025, the death toll of the Israeli genocide in Gaza has surged to 65,283 Palestinians, in addition to 166,575 injured.
Moreover, as the Israeli-made famine ravages Gaza, 5 starved Palestinians were killed and over 24 were injured since early morning while trying to receive aid at designated "aid distribution sites" and were later transported to hospitals, as per the Ministry's report.
The death toll among Palestinians killed while seeking food aid in designated distribution zones has now climbed to 2,523, with more than 18,473 others wounded, according to the report.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip recorded five deaths due to famine and malnutrition in 24 hours, bringing the total number of malnutrition-related deaths to 447, including 147 children.
Since the IPC declared famine in Gaza, 169 deaths have been recorded, including 32 children.
