Swedish opposition groups called on the chairman of the Justice Committee in Parliament, Richard Yumshov, who is affiliated with the right-wing Democrats party, to resign, after insulting the Muslim prophet Muhammad on social media, Anadolu Agency reported.

Yesterday, Yumshov insulted Prophet Muhammad in a post in response to calls for dialogue by the Swedish Muslim community following recent tensions over the burning of the Quran.

Subsequently, the head of the Swedish Social Democrats, Magdalena Anderson, the most sizeable opposition party, demanded that Yumshov resign immediately from the chairmanship of the Justice committee.
